I was looking for something to hold my dog's ashes in and this was way too small (5"w x4"d x 1 1/2"d) . I only have myself to blame for that as the measurements were listed. It is a handmade item so my heart box was shaped a bit wider than the one pictured. The felt inside is brown and a bit simple, but otherwise I could imaging it being a sweet gift for a loved one. The box is made of Cherry, a beautiful carving and cabinet wood from from the Eastern Forests of North America. Cherry is loved by woodworkers for its fine grain, color and finishing properties.
