Review of Fairy Princess Music Jewelry box

This was such a disappointment for me and my daughter. She had asked for a purple music box for Christmas and loves fairies. This seemed like a perfect match.I paid the very high shipping price ($7 for a very small box) because it seemed perfect for her.On the morning after Christmas, the fairy stopped turning. My husband and I who are good mechanically opened the box and found out that the mechanism had been made so cheaply that it was basically inevitable that it would break. The rod that attaches the fairy to the gear that turns the music is made of a very soft plastic. There is a small plastic nob coming out from that which should hold the rod in place. But, the nob was sheared off by sharp metal of the hole that it fit into.We tried to make the rod stay in place in order to keep the gears connected and the fairy turning, but it was impossible. The mechanism is incredibly cheap. For a few more cents, they could have made the rod out of metal, or smoothed the rough edges of the metal hole or made the nob larger and therefore tougher. It is obvious that the people in the factory didn't give a damn and just made it to work long enough the sell.Toysmith should be ashamed of such a poor product.
